Gentle and supportive weekend of women’s wellness in Perthshire, Scotland

There comes a time in many women’s lives when they begin to feel unlike themselves. Sleep becomes elusive. Confidence quietly fades. Energy disappears. Anxiety arrives without warning. Brain fog, aching joints, changing bodies, overwhelming emotions and a sense of simply not recognising yourself can become part of everyday life. This important stage of life is not you fading; it is you coming into focus.

Two days of inspiring talks, wellness support, expert sessions

The AfterGlow Festival – held in the beautiful surroundings of Maycroft, The Scottish Wild Spa – is a 2-day non-residential gathering to help you understand what is happening during perimenopause and menopause, find the support you deserve and step into the years ahead with greater strength, clarity and self-belief.

Across the weekend, you’ll hear from leading experts, practitioners and inspiring women who will share evidence-based information, practical tools and real-life experiences to help you navigate this chapter with greater confidence and empowerment.

Dr. Deepali Mirsa-Sharp

Menopause & Women’s Health Doctor, VOY Menopause

Dr Deepali Misra-Sharp knows that “just put up with it” isn’t good enough advice—for perimenopause, PMDD, ADHD, or the sex-related symptoms so many women are told to ignore. A GP (MRCGP, FRCGP), BMS Advanced Menopause Specialist and Trainer, Senior Menopause Clinician at Voy Menopause, and Board Trustee of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare, she has specialist interests in ADHD, PMDD, and psychosexual health during perimenopause and menopause. She believes every woman deserves evidence-based care, compassionate listening, and real answers—not dismissal.

Vaginal dryness and loss of libido are two of the most common—yet most under-treated—symptoms of menopause. Too often, women are told to “just use lubricant” or that low desire is simply part of getting older. This session cuts through the myths to explain what’s really happening hormonally and explores the evidence-based treatments that can genuinely improve quality of life.

  1. Why vaginal dryness and low libido are separate problems with different underlying causes – and why they require different treatments
  2. Which treatments actually work, including local oestrogen, testosterone where appropriate, and other effective management strategies.
  3. How to confidently speak to a GP or menopause specialist about sex-related symptoms and advocate for the care you deserve.

Blending the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with accredited Menopause Yoga, you’ll experience simple breathing techniques, gentle movement and a deeply restorative Hormonal Harmony guided visualisation, leaving you feeling calmer, empowered and inspired.

  1. A fresh perspective on menopause as a positive transition into your Second Spring.
  2. Five simple chair-based breathing and movement practices to help ease common symptoms such as stress, anxiety, brain fog, hot flushes, tension and poor sleep.
  3. A guided Hormonal Harmony Relaxation with affirmations, plus practical tools to continue supporting your wellbeing long after the festival.

Jo Cooper

Nutrition, Lifestyle & Cancer Coach

Jo Cooper is the founder of Jo Cooper Wellness, a nutrition and lifestyle coach, cancer coach and educator who is passionate about helping women navigate life’s transitions with confidence and compassion. Following her own experience of breast cancer and early menopause, she combines evidence-based wellbeing with practical coaching to help women reconnect with themselves, rebuild confidence and embrace the next chapter with purpose. Jo believes that midlife isn’t an ending—it’s an opportunity to begin again.

Midlife often brings unexpected change—through menopause, illness, caring responsibilities, career transitions or simply wondering, “Who am I now?” In this uplifting and practical session, Jo will explore how changing the way we think about ourselves can transform the way we experience this stage of life. Women will leave feeling inspired, empowered and equipped with practical tools to move forward with greater confidence, resilience and purpose.

  1. Why the stories we tell ourselves have a powerful impact on our confidence, wellbeing and future.
  2. Practical mindset tools to help navigate change, quieten self doubt and build resilience in everyday life.
  3. A renewed sense of possibility, with simple actions to begin creating a life that feels authentic, fulfilling and aligned with the woman they are becoming.

Wendy Dooner

Medical herbalist, shamanic practitioner, author

Wendy Dooner is a Medical Herbalist and best-selling author of Plant Spirit Herbalism: Discover the Power of Medicinal Herbs for Inner Transformation. She works with women navigating perimenopause and menopause, combining the science of herbal medicine with the deeper wisdom of plant spirit tradition. Wendy brings deep clinical knowledge and a genuine love for the plants that have supported women through times of change for centuries.

Wendy Dooner takes women through the hidden mechanisms of perimenopause — the liver, the oestrogen receptors, the strange symptoms nobody warned you about — and the herbs that address each one. Drawing on centuries of herbal tradition and current clinical evidence, this talk reframes perimenopause as a threshold rather than a malfunction, and sends every woman home with practical tools she can use immediately. Expect a few surprises, at least one remedy you have never heard of, and a completely new relationship with the dandelion in your garden.

  1. An understanding of why the liver, the gut and the stress response are as central to hormonal health as oestrogen itself, and the specific herbs that support each one.
  2. Practical plant remedies for the symptoms that rarely make it onto the leaflets — brain fog, disrupted sleep, vaginal dryness, itchy ears, and the strange sensations that make women feel like they are losing their minds.
  3. A simple framework for making meaningful progress without overhauling their entire lives and a free downloadable guide to take home.
