Throughout the year, Maycroft Retreat hosts a carefully curated calendar of retreats, creative workshops and seasonal gatherings, led by a wide range of experienced facilitators and practitioners. From full day or longer residential retreats which may include yoga, meditation and sound baths to creative, nature-inspired experiences such as candle making and wreath making, each gathering is held with care and intention.
Most retreats and events take place within our heated tipi gathering space – a welcoming, light-filled setting designed for connection, creativity and rest. Experiences are intentionally small, with limited places available.

£35 per person
There’s something really special about welcoming the seasons… not just outside, but within ourselves too.
We’re so pleased to introduce Mandy, who will be hosting our monthly yoga evenings here at Maycroft Retreat.
Mandy’s approach is gently rooted in seasonal yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) — a practice that honours the natural rhythms of the body, the elements, and the changing energy of each season. Rather than pushing or striving, these sessions invite you to slow down, tune in, and move in a way that feels deeply supportive and aligned.
Each month will carry a slightly different

Maycroft Healing Sound Bath Journey and Sauna | guest Ali Taylor – Rainbow Lotus Wellbeing
An hour of sound bathing followed with an hour of relaxation in the sauna and cold tubs.
£35 per person
Surrender to sound – lie still, listen deeply and be cradled by the glen
What is a Sound Healing Journey?
A healing sound journey – sometimes called a sound bath, is one of the oldest and most gentle forms of therapeutic healing. You do nothing but arrive, lie down, and let go.
Using a carefully chosen collection of instruments -crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gongs, chimes, and the human voice – Ali creates layers of resonant sound that move through the body as much as they fill the air. There is no music to follow, no rhythm to keep. Only sound, breath, and the slow unravelling of whatever you’ve been carrying.
What to Expect
You’ll be guided to a comfortable position on your mat -wrapped in blankets, supported by bolsters, an eye pillow resting over your face. The temperature is warm. The light is low.
As the session begins, the sounds build gradually, each tone overlapping and dissolving into the next. You may notice your thoughts quieten. Your breath deepening. A heaviness in your limbs that feels, somehow, like relief.
Some guests drift into a state between sleep and waking – what some describe as the most restful hour they’ve experienced in years. Others find emotions rising gently to the surface. Both are welcome. Both are part of it.
The session closes slowly and deliberately, leaving space before the world returns.
Held in the Wild
What makes our sound journeys unlike anything you’ll find in a studio or spa is where they happen.
Our tipi sits within Maycroft’s landscape – surrounded by open fields, the glen, and the unhurried rhythms of the countryside. Before a single bowl is struck, you are already held by something larger.
You may hear birdsong weaving through the music. The wind moving through the grass. The soft sounds of the horses in the fields beyond. Rain, if the sky decides – which somehow, in here, feels like a gift rather than an inconvenience.
interruptions to the experience. They are part of it. Nature becomes a co-creator, layering her own frequencies beneath the bowls, reminding your body – before your mind catches up – that it already knows how to be still.
There is something profoundly settling about being held in a structure that breathes. Canvas and wooden poles. Earth beneath you. Sky above. The tipi has always been a place of gathering and of ceremony, and that intention lingers here.
You may wish to extend your experience with a with sauna and cool dip.
Sunday 19th of July | 11am to 5pm
Earth & Water: A Midsummer Pause
A Women’s Yoga & Wellness Day Retreat
with Brogan & Ciara
A day retreat designed around two elements: flow and stillness. Water and earth. Movement and rest.
The day begins with meditation, intention setting, and a gentle yoga flow to ground and awaken the body. We then gather for a nourishing vegetarian lunch, shared together in a relaxed and welcoming space.
From there, the afternoon is yours to unwind. Guests can immerse themselves in the wild spa, sauna, cold plunge, and spring water hot tub at their own pace, as well as wander the grounds, rest in the tipi, journal, or simply be.
We close the day with a deeply restorative and grounding meditation and sound bath, allowing guests to fully integrate and soften before returning home.
Hosted by Brogan, a 250-hour qualified yoga teacher, and Ciara, a certified Reiki, meditation, and sound healing practitioner.

Sunday 9th of August | 11am to 6pm
Nicole McKendry of Therapy in the City
WildWoven is a full day creative retreat for women who are longing to slow down, reconnect with themselves and step away from the constant pressure of everyday life.
Held in a beautiful natural setting in Scotland, this retreat offers space to pause, breathe, create, reflect, and gently reconnect with the quieter parts of yourself that can become lost beneath responsibilities, expectations and the pace of modern life.
Through movement, expressive arts, storytelling, primitive weaving, reflective writing, group hypnosis and guided inner work, the day invites you to explore your personal narrative in a way that feels embodied, creative, and deeply authentic.
This is not about making perfect art or becoming someone different.
It’s about creating space to listen inwardly, reconnect with your own rhythm and explore what feels authentic and true beneath the noise.
What the day includes
Throughout the retreat you will be guided by Nicole through a carefully held creative process including:
- Expressive drawing and visual exploration
- Gentle expressive movement to music
- Primitive weaving using fibres, natural textures, and written words
- Reflective writing and storytelling
- Optional group sharing
- Time to relax and reflect in the wild spa (sauna, cold plunge, hot tub)
- Group guided hypnosis for integration and reconnection
The day unfolds slowly and intentionally, allowing each experience to build naturally into the next.
A nourishing lunch and refreshments are included.
The weaving process
At the centre of the retreat is a primitive weaving process using natural materials, colourful fibres, textures from nature, and handwritten words or reflections.
Rather than focusing on technique or outcome, the weaving becomes a creative expression of personal narrative… an opportunity to notice patterns, emotions, memories and unseen parts of self in a meaningful way.
There is no right or wrong way to create.
The process is intuitive, reflective, and entirely your own. Resulting in an unique piece of expressive art to take home with you
Who this retreat is for
This retreat is for women who:
- Feel disconnected from themselves or their sense of direction
- Are moving through transition, change, or emotional exhaustion
- of their lives caring for others
- Long for space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect
- Feel drawn to creativity, nature, and deeper self-understanding
No creative experience is needed.
This is a gently guided, supportive space where expression matters far more than your artistic skills.

5th and 6th of September | AfterGlow Festival
Afterglow Festival
Have you ever found yourself looking in the mirror and wondering when things began to change?
Perhaps you’re experiencing brain fog, disrupted sleep, anxiety, loss of confidence, changing relationships, a body that feels unfamiliar, or simply a sense that you’ve lost touch with the woman you once were. Menopause and midlife can leave many women feeling confused, overwhelmed, and unsupported, often navigating this transition without the knowledge, understanding, or community they need.
Afterglow Festival is a celebration of your next chapter.
Set within the beautiful surroundings of Maycroft Retreat, The Scottish Wild Spa, this inspiring gathering brings together leading experts, wellbeing practitioners, and like-minded women for two days of connection, learning, laughter, and empowerment.
Through honest conversations, practical advice, wellness experiences, and inspiring speakers, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your changing body and mind, discover tools and solutions to support your wellbeing, and reconnect with the wisdom, strength, and confidence that already exists within you.
You’ll leave feeling informed, supported, uplifted, and reminded that this stage of life is not an ending – it is a new beginning, your second spring and it is time to blossom. A time to flourish, to reconnect with yourself, and to step into your second spring with confidence.
You are not alone. You are not fading. This is your Afterglow.
